Whispering Spot - the cat who adopted us 🐈‍⬛

Hello all,

Today, I add a new picture of the cat who adopted us as his new family forever home. For 2 years, he has been around our home, we would put food out morning and evening, and give him fresh water each day. He gets canned and dry food and treats. Two years ago, we even tried to scare him off when he first showed up, caught him in a trap, released him, and tried to scare him off, but this one would not scare. He has NEVER again entered a trap set for the varmints. He seems to know NOT to enter the trap. That is a great thing for him.

Whispering Spot

It took him 3 years (this summer is his 3rd) to accept us. You could not touch him, could not get close to him. Will not come when you call him. He slept under the porch for a while, or next door, we think, under the neighbor's home. No one was living there at the time.

Starting last fall, he was letting us get a little closer and felt really bad that he had no place to get out of the cold; we had a bad winter this last winter. So early on, we got out the large dog kennel and put an army blanket in it with one of the heating pads that is for animals under the top couple of layers of the folded blanket. To our amazement, he took to it right away and stayed day and night in that during the winter. The kennel sits on the back porch next to the back door.

This summer, he has walked up to us, timid at first, and wants pets, rubs, and face scratches. Vince and I both have loved on him this summer. Still, I do not trust that I can pick him up yet, though.

Next, we will try working up a cat "litter box" he will use and stop using my flower bed downstairs by the front porch.

He is now leaving me fresh meat at the doorstep (watch your step), fairy diddles, and mice this summer. They are not eaten, they are whole, only dead. I love that he is killing the varmints around here.

Our next big step, one day, will be a veterinarian visit.
He or she is my charmer now, and I love him or her. 💕

Love and Prayers,
 Margo
