Hello everyone,
Today I was able to get pics of my 4 new girls. However, I think one is going to be a "rooster". These little chicks were raised inside in a basement and never saw the sun or the great outdoors. So we had to show them how to enter the coop at night and then how to leave the coop in the morning. This took a few days to get them to catch on. But it worked. But they never left the covered area, which took a few more days. They stayed inside the covered area and were happy. It took a few more days, and then it happened. We found them out in the yard with the other chickens. We also had a few rounds with the old rooster, but now he is getting along with the hens.
This was my first experience being around chickens that had not been outside yet, they were afraid of everything, walked like something was attacking their feet. Looked funny, but they are getting use to it all and just in time before winter hits.
Here are the old girls and the huge rooster.

Here are the new hens, and one of the red ones might be a rooster.

This pic is not very good. They are in the covered area of the pen getting some snacks for the day. More pics will come later on.
I am also waiting for 5 more hens about the same age as these, about 5 or 6 months.
I am so happy to be getting more chickens from friends.
Love and Prayers,
 Margo
